Trip Coming To An End.

We did a few more walks, mostly in the rain, but rain can be fun. The kids had a blast in it. We crammed as much time in all together as we could.
We did family pictures with Papa this time in the house and figured we always have photoshop to pull something together. It was an eventful long process full of gummy bears and personalities, but it got done. We enjoyed our last day together and said goodnight and goodbye as we left at 3am Sunday morning for the airport. Chester and Nana woke up with Papa to say goodbye again before we left. Papa drove us to the airport and we did pretty good in having things together and getting it all on the plane. We had to check 2 boxes of new toys, candy and clothes from Christmas but with the money Zach made with tree jobs we were ok.
We were very early this time for our flight and waited a couple hours at the gate with the kids. Ate alot of Nana cookies and hoped the kids would sleep which they didn't even thought it was barely 5am. It was good we got there early because turned out our seats were not together at all. They were able to get Joie and Zach together and me and Fox 2 rows back. I tried to switch with people on the plane and one guy was really nice and traded seats so I could be closer to them.
Our flight was supposed to have 3 or 4 stops before Juneau. We arrived in Ketchikan as it was just getting light out. Then we were told we couldn't take off because of weather. It was clear skys in Ketchikan but I guess Alaska weather is funny and it was a snowstorm a lil further north. After waiting 2 hours on the plane with the kids, not fun by the way! The pilot said the new plan was to skip the other places and go straight to Juneau. We arrived in Juneau at the time we were originally supposed to land with the stops. Pres. Huntsman was so sweet and met us there with our car. He had fixed the dashlight and filled the tank. The ward he was in started in a few min so he had to leave but told us to come for dinner at 5pm and that he had a room for us if we needed it.
We tried to go to his ward but Zach and Joie fell asleep during sacrament meeting and I just had to chase a screaming Fox around the building. so we left early and drove around a bit. We did go to the Hunstmans's for dinner and stayed the night there. Well, untill 3am again when we had to get up for the ferry. Don got up with us and saw us off which I was shocked at. We hoped they'd sleep in so we could pay them back and leave a note but Zach ended up throwing money in the car park next to ours hoping they found it.
There was no one at the ferry terminal, not even a ferry. Zach checked in and found out they had postponed the ferry from 3am to 10 or 11am. Now we were all up with no place to go for a while. Zach drove around and we tried to sleep and when the kids were out he pulled over and tried to sleep. It wasn't fulfilling at all for us but the kids seemed a bit better.
The ferry ride was 5 hours long and stressful with kids, they wanted to run everywhere! We had snacks and after Fox screaming for like 3 hours straight I got him for a nap and got a nap in for myself too. Zach and Joie walked around the windy deck. It wasn't so bad and we made it to town at around 4pm. Zach went right to work for like 5 hours and his editor was not happy with him at all. Me and the kids visited some friends but mostly drove around bored. It was nice that Zach got off early at 9pm so we could make it home at a good hour. It was so good to be home!
